The Kids' Chore Charts

Again in the spirit of that wonderful combination of ego and voyeurism that brings us all things BLOG, I will share with you my current kids' chore charts, for the two old enough to be useful in these matters.

BEN (8):

Before Breakfast

  • Say Prayers
  • Make Bed
  • Empty Dishwasher
  • Brush Teeth
  • Water Garden

Before Dinner

  • Living Room
  • Practice Piano
  • Take Out Recycling

After Dinner

  • Clean High Chair (& floor around it) (You'll see I'm a big fan of "paying it forward" on this site)
  • Brush Teeth & Shower
  • Read Scriptures
  • Say Prayers

SOPHIE (6):

Morning

  • Say Prayers
  • Make Bed
  • Brush Teeth
  • Empty Silverware

Before Dinner

  • Practice Piano
  • Dining Room
  • Cubbies & Stairs
  • Clean Room
  • Front Yard

After Dinner

  • Clear Table
  • Brush Teeth
  • Read Scriptures
  • Say Prayers

Ideally, in true "enforcement mode" I offer breakfast when (withhold until) morning chores are done, I announce the commencement of before-dinner chores when I start dinner, and the commencement of after-dinner chores when dinner is over. Of course, all this requires that regular meals are being served to the family, which is a whole nother matter.
