A Quiz for You!

I have a sweets problem, particularly with chocolate. And although this is the source of several jokes and hilarious t-shirt subjects, I have recently suspected it may be out of hand. So I found this quiz, relating to alcohol, and applied it to my "love" of chocolate.

Let's play!
  1. When you eat chocolate, does it take more to get you satisfied than it used to?
  2. Do you ever eat more chocolate than you intended to?
  3. Do you make sure you have a supply of chocolate or always keep a stash on hand? (Do you drive across town to Trader Joes at rush hour or right before closing to refill your stash, or lay in some extra on Saturday night so you'll have it on Sunday?)
  4. Do you forget what you have done or said, or "lose time" after eating chocolate?
  5. Do you ever eat chocolate in the morning to reduce anxiety or cope with guilt of overdoing it on sweets the night before?
  6. Do you ever find yourself wishing for chocolate to help you calm down or steady yourself?
  7. Do you ever eat chocolate after binging on other not-so-healthy choices?
  8. Have you ever gone to work or school already full of chocolate?
  9. Do you have a history of relationships with others with addictions (cola, video games, chocolate, gambling, coffee, smoking or worse?)
  10. Do you find yourself using chocolate to reduce anxiety or help you deal with stress?
  11. When offered chocolate in a social venue, do you take more than is normal for regular social snacking?
  12. Have friends, family or loved ones ever commented on or expressed concern about your excessive treats (chocolaty or other)?
  13. Do you conceal your use from family, friends, therapists or loved ones, or "edit" stories involving your eating of chocolate?
  14. Do you ever eat chocolate alone? (Indicates you are not a "social" chocolate eater.)
  15. Do you do or say things you later regret when you eat chocolate? (Does your lower self-image after binging make you irritable?)
  16. Have you ever had a chocolate-related accident?
  17. Have you ever skipped something you should have done (dishes?) or wanted to do (exercise?) because you were sick from overeating treats?
  18. Are you relieved when someone else isn’t watching at a party so you are free to grab more treats?
  19. Have you ever tried to stop or cut back on eating chocolate because you felt it was causing problems in your life (or on your thighs)?
  20. Is your life increasingly chaotic and turbulent?
  21. Do you switch from one treat to another, or change snacking habits in an effort to regain control? (Switch from Snickers to Skinny Cows to Chocolate milk? Pretend chocolatey sports-bars are “healthy”?)
  22. Do you believe you're not an addict because chocolate is legal?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, the addiction experts say you may want to look at your chocolate eating patterns. They say if you answered yes to two of the above, moderating your chocolate eating would be a good idea; and for three or more you are well advised to seek professional help.

For those of us who score 20 , does that mean we win?

Pass along to your friends, see who "wins!"

I win too! Yeah - we should all play together. Lets have a party with a chocolate fountain and dip our heads in it. Ooops, I think I said too much.
